One of the most conceptual Air Max 1s ever made. This one turns Tinker Hatfield's original 1986 design sketch into a wearable shoe — the whole story of how the AM1 went from idea to icon, printed right on your feet.

The upper is predominantly black in premium leather, suede, and synthetic overlays, covered in white hand-drawn lines and Tinker's actual design notes: annotations like "Add U-Throat" on the toe, "Lateral View" and "Medial View" on the quarters, plus measurements and material call-outs scattered across the panels. The Swoosh is outlined in white to keep that sketch-in-progress feel, with pinstripe detailing around the collar. The two shoes aren't identical either — the right heel swaps the usual Nike Air branding for Tinker's signature and the date he drew the original sketch: July 23rd, 1986. Inside, "SAMPLE, PROPERTY OF NIKE NOT FOR RESALE" is printed on the lining to complete the prototype theme.

Classic AM1 underneath — visible Air unit, waffle outsole — with a clean white midsole to contrast the black upper.
