One of the most storied prints in all of sneakers, on the shoe that made Air famous. The Safari print has a legendary origin: back in the mid-'80s, designer Tinker Hatfield spotted an ostrich-skin couch in a NYC furniture store window, and that buttery, speckled texture became the print that debuted on the 1987 Air Safari — and it's lived across the Swoosh's icons ever since.

Here it lands on the Air Max 1, done in the classic warm way: a two-tone heavy suede upper in tan and earthy brown tones, with that unmistakable Safari speckle running across the mudguard and the Swoosh for texture and heritage in one hit. Premium suede gives it a rich, expensive feel in hand, and the whole look leans vintage and grown-up rather than loud.
